DUTIES Planning and design of regional transportation highways, streets, roads, corridors, freeway interchanges, overpasses and many other transportation industry related projects. Other responsibilities include technical design oversight, management, staff development, consultant coordination, client interaction, and business development for our transportation, infrastructure, and public works projects.
Description: The Wastewater Engineer will be responsible for the design of wastewater infrastructure projects and for the design of wastewater treatment process plants, pumping stations, and distributions systems.
Duties: You will be involved in site investigations, process design calculations, and project execution procedures. Responsible for organizing and executing the technical quality and coordination of a broad range of project assignments requiring an extensive knowledge of water and wastewater systems.
Qualifications: Requires the use of current techniques and the application of theories, precepts and practices of water and wastewater systems. This role has the responsibility for the technical quality & coordination of a project. Supervises other engineers, CAD, coordinates with subcontractors and agencies to produce approved plans and specifications.
This position is a fully licensed and competent P.E. in all aspects of designs w/ww systems and pipelines. Selects and applies techniques, methods, specific tools for client projects.
Prior experience must be in water and/or wastewater engineering planning, design, specifications writing, estimating, and permitting.
Must have experience supervising and mentoring support staff.
Bachelors Degree; Civil Engineering preferred
At least 10+ years of experience as a Senior Project Engineer with prior California experience.
FUNCTION:
This position will be the focal point for accomplishment of contractual and internal test requirements for new programs within the Engineering Test lab.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist in the design of test setups.
2. Fabricate and setup test rigs and fixtures; including flaring, bending and plumbing of hydraulic tubing.
3. Setup of instrumentation to acquire test data.
4. Assist in determining test equipment required for conducting tests.
5. Assemble and disassemble test hardware per blue print and procedures.
6. Conduct production acceptance tests, and engineering development and qualification tests per Engineering Work Orders, test requests and procedures.
7. Document test setup; monitor, log and record test activities; assist in the collection, compiling and reducing of test data for customer test reports.
8. Organize, interpet and analyze test data.
9. Assist in hardware development, including R&D, qualification and certification testing.
10. Provide assistance to other technichians and engineers in all aspects of engineering lab functions.
11. Assist in troubleshooting and instituting alternative and innovative approches to technical, testing and resource problems.
12. Meet deadlines on assigned projects.
13. Assist in technical contact between customer and engineering.
14. Follow Engineering, Development and Company standards, procedures and policies.
15. Work under the direction and supervision of the Lead Technician, Test Engineers and Lab Manager.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Experience:
1. Three years minimum electro/hydro-mechanical testing experience preferred.
2. Working knowledge of hydraulics, mechanical components, basic electronics, and data acquisition.
Skills & Competences:
1. Ability to work alone and in a team environment; and able follow work instructions and test procedures accurately, and record accurate test results. Competent in PC operation with typical office programs, like MS Word and Excel.
