AMERICA WEST AIRLINES - VINTAGE SOAP BAR
EARLY 1980’s AIRLINE MEMORABILIA
(Please scroll down for detailed condition notes below)
Offered for your consideration is this vintage airlines soap bar from the early 1980s. It is from the now-gone America West Airlines. From Wikipedia: “America West Airlines was a U.S. regional airline headquartered in Tempe, Arizona. Their main hub was at Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix, Arizona, with a secondary hub at Las Vegas McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada. The airline became part of the US Airways Group after being acquired by the larger airline in 2005 and adopted the US Airways brand name.”
The vintage airline soap bar measures approx 2 1/4 inches long by 1 1/4 inches wide. These little soap bars were what the airlines provided to their passengers in the bathrooms on the planes - barely enough to wash your hands with. At some point, soap bars were deemed to be unsanitary and were replaced by less expensive, more hygienic liquid soap dispensers that you see on airplanes today.
This is a terrific little item whether you worked for America West, collect America West Airlines memorabilia, air lines memorabilia, airplane memorabilia or vintage soap bars (hey - I know you’re out there!)
This classic old soap bar came from the collection of someone who actually DID collect soap bars for their locations and labels - I guess kind of like some people collect match books.
CONDITION: This old America West Airlines soap bar is unopened and in excellent condition. There is some creasing but the soap bar has no rips or stains and is still sealed. I suspect that there aren’t too many of these around.
