This is probably something you won't see very often - a deck of USAIR playing cards from "First Class."
In early 1997 USAir changed its name to US Airways and US Airways merged with American in 2013. These playing cards are from at least 1997 - probably before. They were made available to USAir First Class passengers.
The card box is burgundy in color with gold writing. The box measures 2 & 3/8 inches wide by 3 5/8 inches tall. Playing cards are backed identically to the box design: burgundy color with “First Class USAir” printed on the back of each card.
Joker (scan attached) tells us these cards were made by Hoyle and manufactured in the USA. Most playing cards are now made in China.
While the box shows some minor wear (as seen in attached scans of both front and back of the box) the cards themselves look pristine - as though they were never played.
Of interest to people who collect playing cards, people who collect airline or airplane paraphernalia, people who worked for, flew with or have an interest in US Air, or people who like the color burgundy (hey, I’m trying here, folks! ;-)
