I purchased this outstanding HP ScanJet 5p Flatbed Scanner for digital archiving of important family and legal documents, as well as the occasional scanning of family photos, and it excelled at everything -- the original list price was $465.00 and I paid slightly under $400.00 for it. The unit has only been used a handful of times and is in pristine like-new condition. The 5p was an improved design from its earlier 4p model with a smaller footprint, lower profile, increased speed, and simple one-touch Scan button feature. This is a true document scanner with a height-adjustable lid for use with thick books, and the cover is also easily removed for scanning 3D objects. I recently ran the scanner's self-test operation and it passed with no issues. The scanner comes complete in the original retail box and includes all manuals, controller card, interface cable, power cord, and ScanJet software CD -- there is not a scratch or speck of dust on it anywhere.
