I am selling it for $90 to get it moving. It is used, but in great condition.
Selling only because I expanded my system. I actually love this controller. I feel it's the absolute best 40 amp solar battery charger on the market. Since solar is my only electricity source, I also feel I can speak as an expert.
See the very large heatsink. Only Rich and Renogy are doing this. They are serious about heat dissipation and every part they use in their units is oversized like this.
Heaviness = the best quality = longevity.
This controller will accept 550 watts at 12v or 1100 watts at 24v from your solar panels. It will transfer 98% of that to your battery bank, whereas, cheap controllers stop your panels at 70%. If you are going to go cheap here, realize that you are committing yourself to lose 30% of your available power (EVERY HOUR), forever. This week is party week and people are increasing their expenditures on even more pleasure than usual, but, their systems are cheap and poorly designed (and they are going to stay like that!). I'm only asking $90 for this high-end unit and it SHOULD sell today.
It will work with any kind of 12v or 24v battery, lithium battery too. I've owned both Renogy and Rich controllers and can tell you that the Rich has better software because it automatically syncs with lithium, whereas the Renogy must be programmed for it.
Leave the temperature sensor port unused. If you are running a lithium iron phosphate battery bank (LiFePo4) you cannot install a temp sensor, anyway. Regarding the different lead acid battery types (flooded, agm, gel), just keep those protected from freezing temps and heat on hot days and you're good to go. This controller will just charge them without any restraints.
