This is a gorgeous piece of Auffrey Furniture. The company was founded in the late 1800's in France and a show room was opened in New York in the 1940's. Two other pieces of beautiful Auffray and Co. furniture are listed for sale. The Regence Bench and the "Charon Louis IV Bombay Three Drawer Commode are listed separately. This is very hi-end furniture and most likely hand carved. The headboard is designed for an upholstered or caned insert. The clips are attached to the back of the headboard.
