This is a set of three limited edition Ursula Leyk handmade Bavarian ceramic holiday "Lichthäuser" (light houses) in new condition which my mother acquired while visiting her German relatives in Europe 30 years ago (the collection is stamped "1991" on the bottom of each light house and was retired that same year). The dimensions for each are as follows, from smallest to largest:
* "Pfarrhaus" (pastor's residence), 3.5" Wide x 3.25" Deep x 4" High, weight 8.7 ozs.
* "Dorfbewohnerhaus" (villager's house with "Spitz Giebeldach" (pointed gable roof)), 3.25" Wide x 3" Deep x 5" High, weight 13 ozs.
* "Dorf Rathaus" (village town hall), 4" Wide x 4.5" Deep x 10" High, weight 2 lbs.
Each is trimmed in traditional "braun" (brown) and the hand-applied ceramic glaze is in lustrous chip-free and craze-free condition. Although designed to accept tea light candles, I recommend that these houses be illuminated with standard small-base Christmas bulbs in order to maintain their brand new appearance and flawless condition (they also look just as beautiful if you choose to not illuminate them). These Ursula Leyk authentic Bavarian collectibles typically sell for $30.00-$35.00 each for the smaller houses and $50.00 or more for the larger ones, so this is a very good value at $60.00 for all three in their original German retail boxes. They also make a thoughtful Christmas present or stocking stuffer. All photos were taken by me in my smoke-free home and honestly represent the brand new condition of these highly collectible Ursula Leyk Bavarian holiday light houses.
